Im all for the rotary. Dont get me wrong, I love my car the way it is. Im just pretty much at a borderline of mods I can do to my car now, and not go darastic with it and to single or something and have to put thousands more into the motor.

My dad is going LS7 in his Z06 soon, so that will give me a cheap price on the LS6. Its kinda hard to pass up on such a good motor. Ill be doing heads, cam, headers, TB, and intake (probably more), and be right abound 480hp at the wheels. Right now Im putting down about 330whp, so that will be a huge jump. Im also excited for some torque as well.

The way I see it, im gonna sell my motor when its still fresh and worth something, put a motor thats got more (safe) potential for about the same amount of money.

And ****, projects are fun!

88 get your car running soon. Whats all left to do on it? It would be cool to meet up at woodburn again.

About James....one of the reasons he sold the engine was because someone offered him a nice chunck of change for his entire setup. From my understanding, he could'nt pass up the deal. I whent down to his house one day to pick up some fuel, so thats how I know about it.

Quote from James the last time I saw him in woodburn (import day last year):

"every time I drive the car hard the motor makes a new funny noise"

He was eyeing the V8 option way back during the local barbeque in Salem the year before last. One of his friends has an LT1 FD project that was there.

My car needs exhaust, driveshaft, cooling fan, and to have the motor built / ecu wired and it's ready to go. I'm holding off on the build until everything else is ready.

I agree that forced induction is evil no matter what is behind it. I wish there were a 2.5l rotary that I could have bought / built for $2k because I loved my NA rotary, other than the measely 200ish flywheel horsepower it could probably manage at the very end of the rev range. Oh well, the next best alternative was a ford V8.

Most of it is behind the strut towers like the rotary:

And the hood closes with inches to spare using the stock manifold.

I hope not. I'm thinking two months or less.

I've got a thread on the project in the V8 subsection of rotary performance if you want to see what was involved.
