Inland Northwest Rotary Engine Building Class 22 OCT 2005
When: Saturday Oct 22nd 2pm
Where: 15 miles nw of Spokane at Mom's farmhouse
Address: 16007 W Burnett Rd Nine Mile Falls, Wa 99026
Map Quest Directions: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.ad...&searchtab=home
I will be giving a free class on rebuilding a 4 port 13b motor to help benifit the local club members. Everyone is encouraged to attend and we are hopeing that a few of you guys from Seattle , Coeur d'Alene and other areas can make it too.
The goal for the class it to teach you noobs and novices the basics of rotary engine building. If you ever wanted to learn how one of these motors goes together, then this course is for you. If you are more experienced you might want to be there to help answer questions and let your knowledge help the other students. There will be open questions and discussion during the build with "dumb" questions encouraged. We are going to have a pretty laid-back fun time with this so everyone can learn.
After the motor is put together we will break for a potluck BBQ dinner. After getting something to eat it will be time to get dirty and have some fun. We can tear down some core motors and talk about wear, engine failure, and give you an idea on what parts are reusable and which ones are not. We can also practice some porting on some junk housings. We will also make a dvd of the event and send everyone a copy that is able to attend. We will also make some copies available for sale cheap so we can raise some money for the club's event fund.
So.. thats the plan,, as usual we will need to get an idea on how many will be able to make it and help with the food and drinks. PM Deena(Code Blue 2) or reply to this message so we can get the list started.
We have 2 empty bedrooms and a hide a bed if you are out of town and I think we could even handle a few kids so don't let that stop you from attending.
john
PS: there are 2 or 3 girls that will be using this class as a stepping stone to doing their own motors so if you guys don't want to be left in the dust you better be there!

Have Camera. Will Travel
I will bring my video and digi cameras. We should have a couple more video cameras for differant views (close up, class view etc.). We would also need to get some one to keep track of what camera is doing what to make the editors job alittle easier, someone asking a question on one camera and the answer on another ect.. Those of us that are going to do the camera stuff need to get to geather and talk about setup and individual jobs so we can have some idea of what we are doing before we get started. John you sould be invalve in this too sence your going to be the center of attention, and Richard you should be there if your going to do the editing.
This is a fricking cool idea lets make it good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
more later i'm at work and have to go. god forbid fedex dosent get there fuel on time. lol

just a little update,, those attending might be forced to try Mom's homemade chicken soup and homemade cinnamon rolls. Brian Dave Keith and I checked out the place sunday....
We have a nice clean attached garage to do the motor assembly in. We will have the downstairs of the house for the dinner( there is a wood stove and complete unused kitchen and nice big table for the food). We will do the core tear-downs in another garge that we can get messy. Deena or I will post on the food list later, maybe a week before the event

Anyone that was considering going to this should take my advice. Even if you care nothing about rotary engines, you'd be robbing yourself if you didn't have a cinnamon roll. (I can't wait to try the soup.) As for the class, I have a feeling it'll be well worth attending. The accomadations John and his Mother are providing for us really are wonderful, and it's a nice drive. I'm really excited about this, and hope everyone comes.
John, thank you, I can't wait.

Hey Joe, I think Mikey has to drive over here soon, or hope before snow hits....maybe you can venture over here with him.

video crew meeting wed oct 19 at 7pm Deena's place
we will have a short meeting with the people who are running the cameras and doing the editing for the movie on wednesday. If any of you have some talent in this area you can help too. So far those attending are richard, allan, nathan, Brian, deena and john. This is not a mandatory meeting,, just a informal discussion and equipment check.
