lol. in 50 years tops the planet will run out of oil,
40 if I have anything to say about it. Unfortunately my income and the price of fuel are severly hampering my efforts to depleat the oil reserves. Yes, I seriously want to be single handedly responsible for increasing fuel consumption by 20%. Think of all the driving that means.

BTW, mazda didn't get the catalytic converter wrong, the EPA requirements were released while the first cars were in the middle of the pacific.

BTW, catalytic converters contribute more to reduce mileage and increased emissions than any other technology. The real issue is goverments mandating specific solutions rather than results. The only rational emissions test is an emissions test. stick a probe up the tail pipe and see what's coming out. Do you really care why you're getting the results you are? No! More importantly, check the f'ing deisels. They're rather filthy too. Oh yeah, and motorcycles. While we're at it, instead of upping my fuel tax, maybe we should start charging some sort of fuel tax for deisel, seeing as dump trucks do a hell of a lot more damage to the roads and pay less for it than I do. Hybrids, hey if you just need to get from here to there, great. I want the option of playing on a moments notice, so my cars all have more power than I "NEED" and less than I want. If we really wanted to be smart, we'd be running gas turbine generators to power electric gear motors, but GT's have much to hot of exhaust gasses so you can't put a catalytic converter on the end of them, so their not legal for passenger vehicles. A properly designed turbine will produce very low emissions, great fuel efficiency (especially if you vaporize the fuel first) etc, etc. Every time another moronic law gets passed telling me "NO" with the only real justification being "Because we said so" I look for ways to blatantly and creatively violate it. You can thank my parents for that. I was never punished when I broke the rules, only when I got caught. Tell me "no" will you. We'll see about that.

Oh shut up with that already!

I passed emissions just fine, 85 HC's at idle 73 at cruise, 0.05 CO% at idle 0.01 at cruise, no problem. All it takes is some creativeness. Plus it's only setup like that for a day, then everything goes back to normal

Yeah, where is China? I have yet to go there.....hells, I really don't care to after what I hear about it. I've been to Taipei and that place was nasty enough for me. When I was there I could not get away from that stench. Everybody that I know that has been anywhere in China usually can describe it as a dirtier version of Tiajuana. TJ is one nasty place, so that says a lot. They always come back from there sick from one thing or another.

The rest of the world does pollute a lot. Most of them don't even care.

well the senate aproved so it might actually go threw, now worry, its would only come into effect on cars made sometime between 2009-2016, and beyond.,
all our rx-7 were made a long time ago so they cant change them...

you cant change the emissions laws on cars that were allready produced with lower emissions standards.

As long as they don't add a visual inspection, I'm just fine.
