Hayes Shut Down???!!!
Well, not sure of the general consensus on Hayes Rotary in Redmond WA, but I just found out that they went BANKRUPT!!! Ya the guy who bought my car pre paid for a seven hundred dollar exhaust system to be installed, and he went there one day and they were all shut down! Now he may have to go through some legal action to get his money back. Kinda crazy, I guess more people need to get rx7's to support buisnesses like these. They were good people, at least in my opinion. Just a heads up.

theres a local shop here in town that was installing a rebuilt into a s5 a few months ago. They heard i knew a little bit about rotaries and called me to ask how to get the rebuilt started and running. Well my advice got it running but the damn engine never built any compression. Anyways to the point....
I ask where they got the engine, he says he can't recall, just some place in the seattle area. I say I hope it isn't Hayes....then silence on the phone. Anyways, they sent him a junk engine and never returned any calls, now I know why.

knowing that Don Hayes won't be raping the rotary community almost makes up for losing $700 and a perfectly good early FC engine.
yeah, there should be one hell of a reposetion auction coming up :crosses fingers: their parking lot, garage, and a side parking lot where full of sevens.

yeah, I drove by there a couple weeks ago (to make sure the monster was really dead). a sign saying, this buisness has been seized by agent Ed Wood" or something like that, and it had Ed Wood's phone #.
I was glad to see, the suite that had been packed to the celing with dingy rotor housings and other worthless rorary parapheneila, empty. all i could see through the windows was some furnature, and that ancient wankel whith the humongous carb that they had for display in the waiting area.
the parking lot was still loaded with 7's.

sorry to bring an old thread up, my brother had a car at hayes; that we have since picked up. they owe him parts: longblock, radiator, oil cooler, and money: $2000. all they did was take the motor out and leave the back of the car full of parts... manifolds, accessories, etc...
i was there just 2 days ago, i guess they are starting to clean the joint out. there's a dumpster outside full of old rotors, motor bolts, etc. bankruptcy lawyers said that declared value of stuff inside is zero when i called a while back...
we'll get around to putting a motor in his car someday, for now its sitting & taking up space... this really sucks, wish we'd done some research before he took it there back in june.
i'd like to talk with someone who's hired a lawyer to chase hayes down... my brother needs his $$ & parts.
