I'm surprised you didn't run ss oil lines on it before. You just go to oil filter services or something? If you got any small welded stuff hit me up, I work grave yard at the old job

no x-ray, you can do some cool stuff, just as long as it isnt a gun or knife thats frowned on. I did my driving shoes a few weeks ago and that was kind of cool.
Still working with insurance on it, luckily the guy at tonkin was really cool and recommended a guy who's job it is, is to deal with insurance lowballing you and come up with a fair/realistic price. This is a pretty common thing but most people just accept insurance companies first offer which is basically a slap in the face. They and insurance are working out the details but I paid 25k for the car and should get 30-32k. I'd like to finish up the MR2 this year but I'm waiting on a guy who's developing a larger supercharger kit (Mp92 vs the 45) for the engine and then in the process build up my extra block, add the tec 3 and maybe slap the tilton on it. I'd be happy with 300 rwhp which should be pretty doable with not alot of effort.
All in all it would just be nice to have a car done before the summer hits, I'm sure you can relate on how it sucks when it's nice out but you still have to do stuff to the car.

Ah, actually it would be cool to x-ray a rotor housing at the spark plug bosses where there is visible cracking. It would be nice to see how far the crack goes.
Good luck with the insurance, I've been lucky so far as far as getting a reasonable amount of money for a total loss. Then again, the car's we not worth that much to begin with.
Good luck with your build, are you going to get another Lotus?

maybe in a few years I'll get a exige prices are coming down and I dont want to pay over 500 a month on a car. That usually put it in the 25-30k range which isnt too bad, I figure insurance will suck for about 4 years so I have time to save up or get a house with a garage.
you going to be up at forged over the weekend? I'm on grave yard so I keep really odd hours now but I'm up by 3-4pm if your around I could swing on by and pick up the housing to do. May take a day or two because if I actually have work to do that comes first

I will be at AR qutoservice building the first stage of 6 point cage on a E36 BMW. Then back on my fd's cage once I get to a stopping point.
I will give you holler if I'm at Forged, will be soon. Will be working on an AEM install.

Rethinking my game plan with the racecar. May put it on hold while I save up to buy a house. I would be stupid not to buy one right now with housing prices. Ugh.....
Also, thinking of ditching my plans to run street class in RTA and just build it to ITE and Mod RTA spec's once I start on it again. Which means I'm going to change the cage a little to be legal in SCCA competition. I was going to do it eventually.
Waiting for seat mount parts for that E36, so I'm doing some work on other projects in the mean time.

Lol, okay. GTC bumper painted and on the car. Just need to cut and buff it, let the clear out gas and then 3M clear bra it.
Will be starting on the diffuser section of the front splitter I designed, tomorrow. The plaster molds look good. Will be putting a gel coat on them and then make molds off them. Should be interesting how it turns out once done. jkstill will be the beta tester once one unit is made.
AEM install sooooooon
Then on to your v-mount Jeese and Jody's as well, so make that the money money.

Not this year, maybe next with the race FD if I'm legal in a national class.
Shitty, looks as though this Saturday's PCA HPDE is canceled. Was trying to get on the instructor certification roster.
Front diffuser molds seperated, they turned out nice. Just need to do some clean up, sanding and polishing of the gel coat and the molds will be ready to make some parts. Will be getting flat stock in a few days to start working on the splitter laminates. Will be doing a thee piece laminate so the top and bottom surface will be smooth and once bonded together should be super stiff, even when made out of fiber glass.
