Got more bondo work done Yesterday. Started applying the skim coat before I left John's shop last night.
Started stripping the sealer in order to stitch weld some key areas. Not going to go all out and do the whole chassis. I know some of you may say "Why not?", but this car is a street car first, race car second. When I find a good R1/R2 chassis later down the road I will go all out and make it a race car.
Going to go see CART today and maybe do some more work afterwards.
Peace

I'm taking Friday off to get it all done. I will be doing the etching primer at John's shop and maybe if he can get the down draft in, I will paint it there too.
If anyone is willing to give me a hand I would really appreciate it! Beer and food covered.
List of things to do this week:
1. Finished bondo
2. Mock-up and install front bumper
3. Grind off seam sealer and stitch weld certain sections of the chassis
4. Remove internal door plastic sealer
5. Quick buzz interior paint
6. Remove all glass (front, rear and doors)
7. First coat of seam sealer

Okay, Sunday Kicked ***! My favorite driver finally won with a new team and car no less! Got to see some old friends' I used to work with wrenchin on F2000 and Formula Fords. And found out that my friend Steve Ott got himself a full season in Atlantics! I built and developed a Speads RSO4 DSR racecar for him two years back. He got second in the runoffs that year.
And some Eye Candy

Started stripping the sealer off the interior cabin yesterday and did some more today. I need to get some dry ice for the sound deadening. It's proving too difficult to remove otherwise.
Oh, and a really clean 29K FD came around yesterday for a detailing at John's shop. Super clean, I'm jealous.

Okay, got 10lbs of dry ice after going to three different Baskin Robins. Put the ice on the sound deadening and chip it off once it got cold enough. What takes weeks to remove conventionally took about an hour and half to do with this method.

With a second set of hands I got a lot done yesterday and today, but I won't be ready for paint tomorrow. I still need to finish seam welding the interior cabin, glazing, fit up the front bumper and RE sleek head lights and seam seal the seams again.
I spot welded instead of seam, for the simple fact that the welder John has doesn't give me enough control and power to make a really good weld. So spot welding it is, I will see noticable gains in rigidity, but not nearly as much as if I did 1" stitches. Which may be a good thing since this is a street car primarily.
Stopped welding because I was sweating ***** with the welding gear on in the 90 degree heat today and started fitting up the front bumper. I need to massage some areas which was expected since this is a nok-off. It will look good when it's finished though.

Watched A.J. win again, yeess, sweet. Sorry John, Tracy isn't having any luck like usual.
Fitted up the bumper, cliq-clows (phonetic spelling) made the job a lot easier. I still have a low point at the center between the bumper - hood transition, but it's an easy adjustment.
Will be finishing "spot" welding the chassis and bondo throughout the week so I can paint it next weekend.
The glass guy is finally coming down to look at it Monday.
Man I'm tired, I need to go back to my regular job so I can get some rest.
Peace

By the way awesome job so far! Dang if I were to spend that kind of money and not to mention all that time on a car...My wife would have me sleeping outside with the dogs.

Space, cool I'll see you Saturday. Go to this site for Bible Creek Hill Climb Registration:
http://www.wmclub.org/hillclimb.shtml
The event is held by the Willamette Motor Club of Eugene. That's probably why you can't find it.
Speaking of hill climbs I still need to get my ASP first place trophy from last year. Had to leave early due to my clutch starting to rapidly going away. I was so pissed that day, finally figured out the course and was ready to get a really fast time for the weekend, but didn't due to the clutch slipping badly. Did a ProSolo before that event. Man they're hard on clutches, especially if you drop the clutch at 5.5K repeatedly, hehe.

Nice, but why didn't you create your own thread? "Not smart" hehe
John,
What's up with the gay bling bling wheels on the SUV behind your car?
