Exhuaust Decibel Level testing?
#5
You also have to be aware that rotaries have a frequency peak that's at a different spot in the frequency band compared to piston engines. Therefore your car could be really loud, but will still pass dBs requirements. Case in point there's a guy with a rotary power CSR race car that's so loud it's painful, but since it has a different tone and frequency level he's within the 110 dB requirements based off of piston engine weighting settings.

Here it is, I would assume an emissions testing place in King and Pierce Counties would be able to perform this for you. The test MUST be performed by an SAE certified engineer, and the test required is procedure J 331a. If you perform this test correctly and leave documentation of it in your vehicle, it should be legal.
