A cop almost tried to ticket me for a missing lug nut one day when i came to the police station to write a missing items report for my lost cell phone for my insurance company. I own an FD as well and I gotta say COPS are the biggest ****** D-baggers 95% of the time. My shop got robbed 3 weeks back and we called them to check out 3 leads we had gotten for people and they wouildn't even call us back even though they said call us if anyting comes up.

Bottom line is a cop can write you up for anything. Receiving and signing a ticket does not mean a crime has been comitted, yet you have to take it to court to prove your innocence. Being a jerk to a jerky cop isn't going to work in anybody's favor, it just gives him more reason to be a jerk because he gets off on pulling people's chains. Like one of my friends used to say, people who become cops are the same people who used to get picked on in school! It's payback time for them.

I've succumbed to paying a lawyer $250 and taking all speeding tickets to court. I figure that's cheaper than paying the ticket plus higher insurance premiums for the next 3 years. I've always had them thrown out because the lawyers are just as crooked as the cops. Welcome to the corrupt judicial system in the USA. Money buys your freedom, just look at OJ!

When I got pulled over about 6 years ago, north of Marysville on I-5, the cop didn't bother showing up in court, and it was dismissed. Took an hour from work to got up to Everett, but my case lasted 1 minute.

i RARELY speed, even on highways, and i'm afraid to drive because of cops like that too. i got a ticket in NC (i'm in Idaho now) for doing "60" in a 45. i never got above 50. i said that $140 is a lot to pay for something i didn't do. his response:

"if you can afford to drive a car like this ('05 STi), then you can afford to pay some speeding tickets."

i no longer trust cops because of people like him. it's the second time this has happened to me (first time was 3 yrs ago in california, in an '02 WRX... $981 ticket!!!)

Hate to bring this back to the top, but just the other day I got pulled over on Bothell Everett Hwy just south of 164th. He was sitting in a bus stop when I passed. I passed going 45 (the speed limit) so I thought nothing of it. All the sudden just a block from my apts. he shows up in my mirror and pops on the lights. I pulled over into the gas station just after my entrance (haha should of seen the 6 guys working on a corvette as i stopped, after the cop left one asked if i wanted to race the vet LOL).

He pulled me over for having expired tags (I have a temp in the window you can't see @ night). There is no way he would have seen my 'expired tag's' AT NIGHT passing him at 45.

What pissed me off more is JUST as he popped on his lights a 350Z flew by going at least 15 over.
