you'd think that charging 25,000 dollars for that mod back in the day they'ed weld some end caps on and grind it flush. It would look more "stock" if it had an end cap imho. not to late to throw them on there now. another idea would be to fill in the seam with some fiberglass, that way the support would look to be there from the begining.
Still and awesome car eather way.
Just thorwing this out there, but I have plenty experiance with end caps and making seams look flawless. If you have a good welder with gas, and a grinder. I'll work for parts.

Ends of the tubing used for structural support under the chassis. They probably placed them there not to take away ground clearance, even though tucking them under next to the pinch weld would have looked/been structurally better.

I like the way they look in person. it has a nice look to it.
Yes I was talking about endcaps on the tubing, to make it look like a solid bar, not a hollow tube. and the welds between the tube and the body I'd smooth out and fiberglass over to make it look like it was there from the get go. not just a tube welded to the body. It still looks good, great even. I just think it could be one uped.

2nd FB Convertible
I went up and looked at it this evening.
It's a 12a with a GSL-SE emblem.
Car was keyed pretty good by some a-hole. Body is OK but not great. Paint needs to be redone. The extra bracing (that is present on the Silver 84 Vert) is not present on this red one.
The owner took it for "one last ride" just before I got there.
So, what's Murphy's Law tell us? Yep, the car quit running on her and it wouldn't start after that.
There was no fuel in the carb, there was fuel in the tank, the fuel pump made no ticking sound. I got her to lower the price a few hundred dollars. WOOT WOOT!!!
Gotta go up there early tomorrow and tow it home.

Does the starter "click" when you try to start it? If so, have the starter checked; it could be the bendix gear in the starter if it just clicks.
Check the fuse box for burnt out fuses.
Make sure you have the clutch peddle depressed when you try to start it.
