Wont start, weird problem
Hello, I know everybody hates those help with my car because it wont start thread, but I know I have spark and fuel and compression and I'm not that keen on rx7s yet...
1985 GSL-SE
Well I do not have a radiator fan, and I was in dead stop traffic on the highway. Naturally, I would shut the car off to help it from overheating. No big deal until the 10th time, it just wouldn't start back up...? When in the ON positions (Where it would normally start cranking), all my accesory lights come on, but my radio turns off like I took the keys out of the ignition. I have plenty battery, terminals are tight, horn works, lights work. On the heating issue, I didnt let it move past halfway up the gauge. But its an 85 with a little bit of miles on the speedometer and the gauge may not be as accurate as it should. Anyone heard of this before? Or could it just be a short from my battery to my starter?

So it won't crank when the key is held to START?
Test the starter by applying 12V to the solenoid. The car should crank. If it does not, then the starter solenoid is bad. If it does, then the key switch may be worn out.
Also, you obviously need to get a fan installed before you drive the car.
