White smoke! Car hasn't started in over a year. Help!

My car has been in the bodyshop for over a year. I started my car and drove it aroud 40 miles. There was a ton of white smoke coming from the exhaust with crazy fumes. Once I got it to another shop, I think the car stopped smoking. Is there anything I should be worried about? Should have my mechanic do anything to my car? Thanks

If the car has been sitting for this length of time and giving you symptoms like that, you really need to put fresh engine oil in it, check the coolant level, and drive it for a little while.
You can't diagnose any problems immediately after an extended storage like that.
Rotary engines generally tend to smoke for a little while after this kind of storage period so give it a chance.

I would change the oil, check over all the hoses looking for soft spots and do a tune up. After you drive it arround for a little while, getting it good and hot(30-40mins), check it over for any leaks or anything that looks bad.

Its normal for it to smoke after a long storage like that.

put fresh gas in it

if it smokes consistently then your coolant seals may be drying out, they'll do that if the car sits without being started over a long period of time

My car is always worse in cold weather when it comes to the smoke. Just keep on top of the oil level

I find it normal when my FD has sat for a while to see lots of white steam. It looks kinda thick but it's definitely not smoke.

The white smoke you should be more concerned about would come about when the engine is shut down hot, and about 1/2 hour later you start it and see more smoke. If you see that you should get your coolant seals checked out.

BC smoke

u try running it? try letting it burn off? It may run better. If the condition persist, there is a problem for sure.

hah yup, ive tried that, but i did the coolant seal test to see if my coolant was bubbling, and it was,its also flooded on what seems to be an hourly basis, also when my car was inspected by my mechanic he said that there was no sign of a leak from anything external, and he told me that my spark plugs were caked in coolant,so
