What Standalone ECU???
In my mission to get to 400 horsepower I know I will need to add a standalone ECU to my build list. Iam a newb when it comes to aftermarket ECU's. What brand would allow me the easiest transition into standalone ECU's? The engine I'am building is a '91 13BT. I just need a point in the right direction by someone with experience using these computers.

The easiest transition is to use a piggyback like an Apexi S-AFC or Rtek 2.0 for lower power levels, and then move up to a full standalone a year or two later once you are a better tuner. If you want to start right off with a standalone EMS, then I recommend a brand that has support in your local area. Ask your friends and local performance shops to see which brand they are using. It would be better if they know how to tune rotary engines, but even the turbocharged piston engine tuners could help you with the large majority of the tuning functions.
These brands are popular with rotary engines: AEM (USA), AEM (Wolf), Apexi Power FC, Autronic, Electromotive, Haltech, Microtech, Motec.
