GA What size 4 barrel can i use?

Im getting my 79 RX7 next week and the person who i am buying it from is setting me up with a Holley intake and 4 barrel carb.My question is can i use a Holley 600 on a stock 12a or does it have to be a 400 or so?I have read of people using a 600 carb and i need to know if it would "drown out"the motor.I live in Ga so emmesions are not a concern.

"Stock" is the key word...if the exhaust is stock also, the 600 will be a dog that drinks gas for fun. 400 or so is the normal limit for such an application.

the holley kit RB sells for the stock port 12a is 465cfm. they do slight modifications to a regular holley so they work on a rotary. is the holley u'll be getting from RB or just a regular one? the holley isn't known for great gas mileage so if that's a concern it's best to stick with the stock carb or get a sterling.

In my opinion, the best carb choice is the Sterling (www.sterlingmetalworks.com).

I've been using one for years, and it always does what I need it to do flawlessly.
