CO Twin distributors???

I read somewhere that rx7's sometimes use twin distributors. Whats up with that? How do those work?

Only the very early cars used the dual dizzy setup. RX7s never did...

That engine also had 6mm carbon apex seals and didn't last long. Those early engines and thier short life expectancy still still cast a shadow on todays more modern engines and thier much longer durability.

Check out http://www.vintagerotaries.org/

That's where the old school guys hang out. Someone over there may be interested in any parts you have, and they'd certainly be interested to hear about the car you just purchased. Good bunch of guys, tell them I sent you.

If you have the matching front cover, I'd be quite interested in purchasing it for display purposes. Let me know...

That´s a piece of history you got there.
10A engines and early 71-73 12A engines use that. I made my first 12A peripheral with one of those 12A engines and install it in a VW beetle to run Drag Racing.
I still have a 10A engine complete with carb, alt and of course the twin dist assembly and even the transmition and exhaust, just for display in my shop.

twin dizzy were used to help get the spark through same as on a top fuel car with the twin magnetos more spark means more fuel and air can crammed in there. the vintage ones couldnt offer what the new dizzys can and with all the other improvements to help ignition spark
