Tutorial's and common Mods

Was wondering if there is a thread on common upgrades.
Interested in the following.

Brake Caliper Swap Upgrade. Whats need to upgrade to FC turbo II caliper's ?

Free mod's like Rear steering delete. I don't know what this is but read briefly that its needed to be done in order to drift.

Also does anyone have a solution to a beatup sunroof? I have a few small rust spots that can be repaired but figured there's something out there a little more light weight.

Ohh and short shifter recommendations. Thanks for any help.

I'd tell you,but right afterwards I would BAN you..(can't kill a guy with internet..mwuahhhahha!).
Seriously,Just handing it to you wouldn't be constructive!!
This way you get to Know your car.
All your answers are easily accessed in the FAQ's(frequently asked questions) and the Sec Gen Specific and Archives.
The reason why I am telling you that is because it has been posted..over,and over, and over again.

Besides,if you now own an Rx7,You wouldn't want anyone working on it that doesn't know WTF they are doing, right?
If you have the Info, you can do it yourself, and that is the "#1" reason why the Forum is here..

RX7 Club..not just for car parts anymore!

I got a C's Shifter..shifts like "Buttah"..
(C's shifter..I can't believe it's not Mazdatrix...lol!)

I agree with doing the work yourself. The RX7 was a complete mystery until I did a single turbo swap. Now I feel like I understand it decently well from a few short months of working on it. If I were you I would focus on doing minor stuff under the hood to better understand the car.

What exactly do you want to know about upgrades?

If your car has 5-lug wheels then the brakes are functionally the same as those on a Turbo II car, so there is no need to change them. If your car has 4-lug wheels then search the 2Gen forum for information on a 4-lug to 5-lug conversion. The search engine requires at least a 4-letter word, so search titles with "4-lug" or "5-lug" rather than "lug". I am not aware of a specific write-up on the archive or FAQ.

If your car is non-turbo then I would think that the smaller, lighter 4-lug wheels would work better for drifting. However, I don't drift, so I am just going by physics assumptions in that smaller/lighter wheels help with acceleration.

The rear steering is called DTSS (Dynamic Tracking Suspension System). This is deleted by replacing two OEM rear suspension bushings with racing bushings that are usually called "DTSS eliminator" or "Toe Eliminator" bushings. They are about $50-75 for a pair, and if you don't have a bearing press then you will need to pay for installation labor on top of that. I usually buy my suspension parts from AWR Racing, Mazdatrix, or Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development.

I know it sounds radical, but when mine rusted I just bought a new panel from my local Mazda dealership. I assume that they are still available because they tend to rust pretty fast if the seal wears out and you don't replace it promptly.

Most people seem to like C's, Mazdaspeed, and Mazdatrix. I was under the impression that C's are no longer in production. Corksport also makes one, but I don't know how it compares to the others.

Thanks for all the help everyone especially evil avatar.

Ive read through the fc faq and didn't see anything about the rear dtss system but later found a good explanation by evil avatar and mazdatrix.

I bought my fc with those items missing so that is why iam looking to replace them with better parts. I have 5 lug hubs so now I know either will work.

I am coming from the dsm crowd where theres section's on the forum devoted to upgrades like fuel pump rewire, porting how to's, caliper swaps, and such but I guess the rx-7 community requires more digging.

Ohh and I do all my own work, I was just looking to be pointed in the direction to find some answers.

This website isn't really designed that way. However, it does have a FAQ and Archive:

2nd Gen Archive - RX7Club.com

You can find additional FAQ on other websites.

It depends on the mods. High-quality stainless steel exhaust systems or all-aluminum radiators that are similar to the OEM configuration will tend to increase the selling price by about 1/4 to 1/2 the amount of money spent on the part. For example, if the car is worth $1,000, and you add a $1,200 Racing Beat exhaust system, then you could reasonably get $1,300 to $1,600 for the car. Ricer/drifting mods like fake roll bars and multi-color interior parts will tend to lower the selling price by the amount that it will take to replace the parts with OEM parts.

Your car came from the factory with a CAI. Wow, that was easy, hehehe.

You can't eliminate the 5/6th ports unless you rebuild the engine with different housings. A 4-port intake manifold will not fit properly on a 6-port engine because the footprint is different.

4-port intake:
