Trying to get my FC running
I purchased my FC in July of 2007. When i drove it, it would overheat and sometimes not start. I later found out that the catalytic converter was clogged. After repairing it at a muffler shop it ran until January of 2008. In that time period i went throught two alternators too. The engine cranks but doesn't start. It has 129,000 miles on it. Before it stopped running it began overheating again. The temp read past the H on the meter. A mechanic told me that the engine has low compression. Is it time for a rebuild or is there anything else i can do just to keep it running?

I work with my own car am a rotary mechanic and I've seen this problem many times. Most likely you might need to overhaul the engine and need new housings because that's what might be causing your overheating problems. Buy a rebuilding kit and new housings.Rebuilding the engine alone won't help.

Thanks for the advice
You have been very helpful. I will see what i can do. I did have plans on swapping a T2 motor in anyway. I wanted to swap the auto trans for a 5 speed too.
