Trouble getting stock stuts off, s3

So I need the part with the spindle on it and the stock struts to come off. Got both bolts off... And the thing feels welded into the cross bar (the steering piece). Look at my pictures, the left bolt was stripped so I cut it in between the steering piece and the spindle/strut piece. Can someone please explain why she's not coming off? Yes the nuts on the top are off too.. Does the stock strut go all the way through??
See also what I'm replacing it with in pics

with the sway bar still attached to the lower control arm, it wont just fall away. u will need to pry down on it. if it's never been removed, it may also be stuck with corrosion since that one stud is still there. hit it downward a few times with a hammer.
