Tach signal questions

I'm trying to find an easy way to send a tach signal to an innovate LM-2 for datalogging afr vs rpm. This is on a 92 jmd fd. I've searched for many hours over the past 2 weeks with no results. I tried tapping into ecu terminal 2B, diagnostic terminal IG, and I looked for the bullet connector on the trailing coil wiring but didn't see anything.

I'm frustrated as this should be (and probably is) a very easy thing to do.

Can someone help me please?

Would I be better off moving this to 3rd gen tech?

I don't recall reading of anyone doing this before. What do the directions say?

I've used an LM-2 before, but never used the datalogging function. On an FC, there are bullet connectors on both the leading and trailing coils that can be tapped into for a tach signal. I don't know FDs have the connector on the leading coil, but you can check there. Verify the wire you're looking for with the 3rd gen wiring diagrams.

Innovate sells a proprietary inductive clamp that you just clamp on the plug wire, but they don't sell it in Okinawa. The lm2 has a few analog in channels where I can wire in almost anything that voltage to control the signal, but the lm2 only has an input range of 0 to 5 volts.

I think this might be fc only as I can't see any unused bullets. I've gotta pull my uim soon to install an fpr so I'll give a good look.

Thanks fellas.
