AL Spark Plugs

Is there a type of plugs that should be used for the leading and trailing or are there different plugs.

Guess I have time to wait though since I'll be ordering a new TB gasket as well. Good ole Robby once again screwed me with his how to guide. Or maybe Mazda just got lazy when they built his car and gave him an extra foot of coolant hose that attaches to the TB...

I just talked with the guys at the 7store and was told that it was better for me to run the 9 trailing plugs all the way around rather than leading 7s and trailing 8s or 9s.

Can anyone confirm this?

Here's what sparkplugs.com recommends for your '83, 12A:
http://www.sparkplugs.com/results_ap...1&AAIA=1192261.

The NGKs are exactly what Mazdatrix.com sells for that car.

Unless you're engine has been modded, you just need the NGK plug "BR8EQ-14".

Simple as that...when you get to playing with timing, nitrous, turbos or any of the Direct Fire ignition ideas, then you need to start thinking about spark plug changes.

I've got that plug in all 4 holes in each of the 12A engines in my two RX-7's. They both start up the first time, no choke, in the dead of winter, no problems, with a fresh set of these plugs.

Go with the Mazdatrix advice. Do not go to a 'cooler' plug unless you race the car most of the time. Cooler plugs (popular on the track) will tend to foul during street driving.

I'd go with whatever Mazdatrix says over anyone else except Jeff20B....but you don't have an '83 RX-7, so you shouldn't be posting that question here in this guy's thread anyway, please.
