similar to rx7 fd
I'm new to this forum as you can see and I don't know anything technical about cars either which is why I'm a bit hesitant about the rx7 fd. After reading a lot of comments on the internet about how much maintenance is required for the rx7 and the rotary engine and also how much fuel rotary drinks (i can't afford it), I'm not sure If i want to buy it. I love the rx-7 fd but clearly I cannot maintain it.
I just want a fun riding car similar to the rx-7 fd but with less maintenance. Does anyone know any cars that look similar like the rx-7 fd?
Thanks

Nice Aaron!! I've been around for a while now. 43 yrs to be exact. Growing up in the 80's the Camaro's, GTO's, Cudda's were the cars everyone wanted. Then the late 80's came the 280z and my 10th ae. I didn't know they even existed until mid 90's. My point is I was always around cars. The S4 wasn't blowing people away with the hp. But take the rest of the car and it's untouchable. It's been a while since I read that the only car that has better weight distribution is the Enzo. Independent rear wheel drive. The Vette may have gotten rid of the solid axle by then. Nothing handles better. It's a great car until you start the mods and then it gets much better!! If you ever wanted to work on your own car the rotary engine has prob. 80% less parts the a piston motor. If you need to rebuild it your talkin a g note. How much is it to rebuild piston motor?

I think it's worth noting that the Ford Taurus had similar brake lights to the FD. Maybe you just want the brake lights to look similar? If so, why not get an older Taurus?
But to be fair, my brother wanted something like an FD and ended up convincing himself that the Miata was a good substitute. It lacks the power, but it has great suspension. If you want to stick with Mazda, that might be a good bet under a limited budget.

Dont go by appearance and internet "reviews" alone. It's a bad habit.
All cars have something that's a weak spot for them even more so if the Previous owner never maintained the car properly. Corvettes have a tendency for their bumpers to warp, DSM's have cranks that like to walk, lifter tick and leaky capacitors, Hondas require engine swaps just to make power, BMW's have a tendency to turn their drivers into douche's, etc etc.
Just find something local, cheap (but in good shape) with an active community + suppliers and is something you can have fun in.
Other than that... ford probes look kinda like a cross between an FC and FD....
