CA Serious white smoke!!!

ok so yesterday i stared up my fc and it was a cold start so of course it revved up to 3k and stayed there for a bit, but while it was revving there was a crap load of white smoke comming out of my exhaust!!!

so im not sure if this was just condensation or somethin bad,

i do know that i have a little crack in my thermostat cover but i dont think that would be the problem does anyone know of anythin that might be the problem??

edit: the car is a 1991 rex...

From the little i know about these cars, you may have a bad coolant seal. If so, the only way to remedy the problem is to pull the engine and rebuild it. Hopefully it's something else. Good luck.

does the smoke smell sweet?
if it does it could be a blow coolant seal or it could just be condisation or just carbon being burned.

What has me worried is that he's in Cally, so it can't be too cold over there...normally, on a cold morning, you will see white smoke as the engine warms up...if it's a warm day and he's seeing it, that could be trouble...it should be for a real short time, if at all, that you see smoke on warm up.

OH, and stop revving it to 3k when it's cold, you're killing its long time life...1200 should be all you need to sustain an idle when cold, at most.

Bad idea to smell any gases from your exhaust

If it does not smell sweet, of oil, goes away in a short time and does it way less/not at all when the temp's warm up...it is normal.
