School Me on modifications for my 93 fd
Im looking for add quite a few more mods to my rx7, but i just want to make sure im adding the right mods...im looking to get a little more power, but i want it to run cooler also..
-koyo Radiator
-stock mount intercooler(18x12x3 is the size)
do i have to get a special setup to keep my ac?
-apexi intake
-racing beat dual tip exhaust
-B&m oil cooler
My fd already has a downpipe, midpipe, and greddy pulleys, soo after the intake, intercooler, and exhaust i will need to get it tuned correct?

I live in linglestown and work in palmyra.
Bring it by, we'll take a look at it and come up with ideas. We'll want to check on your boost levels and make sure you're all caught up on maintenance.
As for mods, don't add any more until you install some boost control. Then as you increase flow mods and fuel system capability, you can increase boost. A quick way to toast your motor is to overboost because of too many bolt-on mods. Especially if your mid-pipe is a straight-thru pipe that doesnt' contain any cat.

Here is the order I would do things,
1. Eliminate or replace AST. I would eliminate it, but that is kind of the theme on my car
2. FC fan switch (won't need with PFC)
3. Heat wrap you downpipe
That should all cost under $150, and is all well worth it.
4. Engine Management- With a midpipe on your car, it is already dangerous to run it on the stock ECU. A flashed Pettit ECU would work, but a Power FC (much more common of FDs than AEM) would be much better, but is priced accordingly $200 vs. $1000
It depends on your ultimate goals.
5. Fuel Support- Buy a supra fuel pump at least and possibly re-wire it. It is cheap insurance on a car that doesn't tolerate detonation.
6. Consider gauges, you might already have them, but at least a boost and water temp. If you buy a PFC with a commander you can use it to moniter the water temp.
7. Now you are safe to start on you list,
Also, read Howard Coleman's thread on 'Making the case for the rotary powered FD' It is about water/meth injection, which is often overlooked and the best way to cool you engine. Kits range from $200-$400, which is a steal for what it does: 110 octane, twice as high detonation temp, cleans carbon, and lower intake charge by up to 70 degrees.
