Safest port for a semi daily driver
I am doing a turbo 2 swap into a 88 vert from a 88 turbo 2 donor car. I am swapping the engine and the drivetrain. I want to do a port job on my N/A engine and put it in the turbo 2 shell. I was wondering what is the safest one for a daily driver. I don't understand the terminalogy all that well. Thank you for any help or discussion anyone can provide.

There are a couple different types of ports, I will cover the basics of each going in the order of complexity, money, and power.
Street Port - This deals only with enlarging the ports.
Bridge Port - This is when you create an extra port along side of the stock port. The result is a 'bridge' of material between the two ports.
J-Port - I am the most unfamiliar with this, other then it lasts only a couple thousand miles and involves porting into the water jacket and rebuilding that area.
Periphrial (sp) Port - This makes the intake port the same as the exhaust, along the rotor housing side opposed to the irons side.
Anything bridgeport or above has no business being run on the stock intake manifold or the stock ecu. So your best bet is going to be the streetport.

Why are you doing this? I hope it's a good reason?
To answer your question, for daily driving, a streetport is your best bet. You could also do a half bridgeport, but that would take away some amount of driveability and fuel economy.

I wan a turbo vert, and since I have a n/a engine and a shell I would like to mod that some and see what happens. Learn more about rotaries and their performance.

It is a major undertaking and will cause the car to lope at idle, get poor mileage and be louder then you can imagine.
If your engine needs to be rebuilt, a street port will give you about a 20% increase with few negative side effects. If that is not enough power for you, then a TII swap will make daily-driver and 'Vert friendly power.
