Send a PM to Bwaits_ and see if he has the parts you need. He's parting out a car right now and should have exactly what you need as long as it hasn't already sold.

so is it worth it to get new bushing for all the watts links or is it just better to get new links?? what do you think. thanks. for the pm thingy....maybe someday Ill learn how to do that. also I need a drive shaft from 83.5 or earlier...small axle one, because the new rear end I got was from an 82, and I didn't know about the axle change until after I tried to put it on hahaha

To send a pm ( pm=private message, by the way ) look at the top left area of the page. There is a User CP option in the same row as the the search button, but to the left. Click on the User CP. This will take you to your User Control Panel (who woulda thunk). On the left there will be a column with lots of things that you can do. Scroll down until you see the private message section, and there will be a "send a pm" option (or something like it ). Click on that and go from there. Hope this helps.

If the links you have now are fine, but the bushings are bad, then just replace the bushings. www.re-speed.com should carry them.

Sorry, I didn't have the time to explain the PM thing right then. There is actually a quicker way to get there though, just look at the top right of the page, where it shows your user name (Welcome Pauly) and right under that is a link to your private messages. Thanks for the help with that jpieps...

yeah, I was looking at the respeed set....I was thinking about getting this one just to do it all at one time. (http://mrcmfg.com/catalog/product_in...roducts_id=153) I knew about respeed because of all you talking about it on the threads.
is the guy billy the one you talk about the one that owns this place and he can help about setting you car up for what you want.

ok, great thanks. Would it be ok if I talked to him about setting my car up? well, what I mean is does he enjoy and willing help new guys out? I haven't done much to the car, been really busy...and waiting on a shed to get cleaned out so I have somewhere to rebuild the enigine, and other very important parts that I need to handle. as you can tell from the last sent. I have decided to take the enigine out and inspect all of it and put new seals in......

Billy held my hand all the way through my suspension build. I'm sure he'd be happy to advise you, just let him know what you want out of the car. You might also want to sign up with http://www.iwankel.com/

how is everyone doing?? sooo....I am confused that I cannot find a new intake manifold for the nikki carb in my 83?? Does anyone know if they make them and where ever I can get one. I've looked at the RB website and they have them for their holley carb set ups, but I'm trying to stick with the nikki, because I'm going to rebuild it and mod it out for street performance. So If anyone knows anything about this problem I have please let me know, Thanks.

oh, and "kentetsu" I have decided to rebuild the engine, any advice before I pull the motor out. :/

You're looking for a new intake manifold? I doubt that they are still available, so a junkyard or wanted add would be your best bet. What's wrong with the one you have now?

On pulling the engine, the only advice I have is to clean the hell out of the engine bay while the motor is out. Oh, and clean the motor too.

well, when I pulled the intake manifold out it really looks like ****, and it also has some crustation in some of the ports......maybe I could get it cleaned but I don't know, it really looks bad, but as far as I know there are no cracks or damanges, so thats good. and when the motor is out, I am going to try and repaint the engine bay. I could get a pic of that manifold if you would like....

oh, and when I pulled it off water poured out of it, was that normally?

Sorry man, but can't see the pics from this computer. If you upload the photo to the forum, rather than hosting them, then this won't be a problem.

But for now, I'll take a guess; is the crusty stuff in the coolant passages?

Yes, it is normal for coolant to run all over the place when you remove the intake mani. When you put it back on, you will have to have a new intake manifold gasket (don't try to skimp on this item), and you will also need either:

a. New O-rings for the coolant passages.
b. 20mm freeze plugs.

I went with the freeze plugs myself, so that I wouldn't have to deal with coolant loss every time I pulled the manifold off. The press fit into the passages and seal them off. A search in the 1st gen tech section will provide more info on this. Otherwise, find the right sized Orings and hope the don't get misaligned while re-installing the manifold.

Do you think you'll have the car ready for next spring's Deals Gap Rotary Rally? If you haven't been there yet, I highly recommend it. And why was I thinking that you were in Wisconsin? Must be getting senile or something. lol.
