CO Remote turbo on my N/A????

Hey guys, I'm wondering if it would be feasible, to install a remote turbo, on my rx7
I hear the remote turbo system work pretty good, I want to do this so I can keep somewhat of a sleeper look under the hood, and because, there's not much space to mount a turbo where the stock TII system is.

Very little info available, but someone may have done it. I will tell you that there are many NA engines that have been converted with a standard turbo setup. The only clearance issue you'll find is with the lower intake manifold, which has a number of work-arounds.

Not really sure where you'd put a remote mount. The transmission tunnel is pretty tight to the transmission but you might be able to tuck a small turbo up in place of the main cats. Of course, generally 13Bs don't respond well to "small" turbos. Let's not even discuss the turbo in place of the mufflers as a viable option. Not sure how you'd maintain the sleeper look with all the plumbing anyway.

i too have just looked up remote turbos and am wondering if like it says it needs no intercooler and only a oil feed to the turbo. it says just remaping current ecu will do for fuel, is this true. this sounds like a interresting alternative to a full on turbo.

TWO of those turbos are too small for a 13B.

I think I'll give it a try when I have some time, since there's not much info out there on remote turbo N/A rx7's
I found a 14b turbocharger for $75, I guess for testing, it should work.
I also found a 92 gsx for $500, looks like a good buy, of course the valves are bent on that.

There isn't much information mainly because there isn't a lot of point. Remote turbos are generally used when engine bay space is at a premium, which it really isn't on an RX-7.

I just looked up the compressor map of a 14B turbo. Don't even bother with it. The turbo is way too small for a 13B.

Turbos designed to make 200-250HP on 4 cylinder engines are way too small for a 13B.

Well, I just bought the turbo, a td04 I think, off an eclipse, and it's really small, but should work just to test fit.
I'm gonna mount it right behind where the engine meets the tranny, and weld a flange on there, I will upgrade as I go.

How about, using two tdo5h turbos, the exhaust inlet seems to be about the size of only one of the, engines exhaust port.

I think you're going about this the wrong way. Fabbing up some overly complex twin remote turbo setup is far more complicated than modifying the engine for a properly sized single turbo using conventional mounting. An RX-7's engine bay has plenty of room, and was intended for the TII engine. The bay on an NA car is no different than than of a TII.
