Reasons to have an FC

Reasons to have an FC
okay, so I got into an argument with a friend of mine about my plans for my rx7.
I wanted to start drifting. It looked fun as hell and I had the opportunity to go on a few ride-alongs with fellow rx7 owners. I went to a few events and it seemed like a rad thing to try.
But, I heard it was hella expensive to drift, especially in an rx-7. This turned me off big time. I mean, I love driving my FC, I LOVE it and I would like to make it faster. I see nothing wrong with making mods just to have a fast car. His view however, made it seem as if I just wanted to do stuff to the rx7 to just "do it" and I shouldn't even have the car if I don't plan on drifting.
I mean...There are a ton of things that you can do besides drifting right?
I don't want to keep spending major amounts of money, since you know, I am not made out of it.
So got me to thinking? why do ya'll have an rx-7? why? and I am not wrong right?

I can't comment on this "drifting" thing as I'm way too old to have been caught up in that fad.
I'm not really even sure what you are getting at. There's no point to having the car if you aren't drifting it? Is that his argument?
What does it matter what other people think? If you enjoy the car, and want to own it, then why not get one? Actually I'd even say NOT to drift it, because if you do it will most certainly be quickly turned into some bent up and broken POS destined for the scrap yard.

reasons to have an fc
(1)excellent handling, braking, all around fun car to drive even stock
(2)great lines, styling, still holds its age well today and you will not see many around so you will stand out
(3)you have nowhere near enough funds to even consider an fd...theres many more reasons, thats just a few quick ones off the top of my head,if you want to impress the 20 something crowd just get a honda and throw all the typical ricer mods on it

I thought I would buy the car and put a couple little things on it,so I could just say It is my style.
Later on,after reading about 4000 posts on Forum about what people are doing to their car I wanted to change it because it sort of made sense to get the car to run a little better and give it that UMMPH!
so NOW here I sit with about $15K into the car and it is still being Upgraded.,King of the Driveway..
....Do I regret it?NO.
Would I do it again.YES!
Did it teach me anything?..YES!...Keep the car stock, save your money and Get Laid for God's Sake.Quit Fartin with your car and go Get Humped!!!

But here's the way I see it. I come from the do called drift community. I've had track time so on and so forth. Drafting is way to expensive for me right now cause I'm a collage kid. Will I ever do it again hell ya! But right now I have a 87 t2 that I just put a new motor in and am buttoning things up. I'm just making it into a nice car and standing it out not crazy just some flushness. It's all about what you wanna do and what you wanna down your money on. Cause if your anything like me you will be tire of being broke all the time and just wanna drive and not buy ****. Just enjoy it for what it is. Hit the twisties and have fun and if ya wanna mod do it to make it your own (what ever that might be )

I have an FC because I fell in love with it when a friend introduced me to Initial D. After finally buying an FC and seeing RE-Amemiya's time attack FC, I was inspired to build a grippy car that could still be driven on the street. I absolutely love the fact that the FC is a front mid-engine RWD rotary powered car. The rotary just makes sense. Even if it never becomes the touge beast or torque monster that I want it to be, it will always be my first love. I'll always have an FC.
You don't have to drift your FC... It isn't even the fastest way around a corner! You want a fun street/cornering FC?... First and foremost, reliability. Be sure the car is running top notch. Get some adjustable shocks, springs, slotted brake rotors, good brake pads, some wider wheels, and some good quality tires. This will be a great start.
And NEVER cut any corners with a project.

In my personal opinion when I get my Rx7 I'm only going to mod it and make it my own style as in looks and performance and of course do research on what it's best for it. What I mean having an rx7 or any car isn't just made to drift or what other people say it's for. Just enjoy the freaking beauty of the car. . It's hard enough to get one nowadays from what I've looked for and if you decide to change it up just because people say or you hear from that kinda sucks.

Fc's are all around a great car advanced for its age i believe look at the styling of the car there's hardly any car that can look that good in the late 80's early 90's
rx7 can do alot more then drift they time attack circuit race canyon runs
any type of racing probably can get into
FC's arent that expensive compared to a FD so thats another good reason to own one
all u gotta do to an FC is lower it and some rims and it looks flawless
enjoy the car u have and learn to drive it how u like it
