power adders?

Ok I have a rebuilt 88 s4 rx7 street port with resurfaced irons. I'm looking for some ideas on reliable power adders that won't kill my motor over a long period of time. I'm not looking. Towards turbos. Looking towards alcohol injection or nitrus???

Is this possible with basically a stock setup?

Give me some points people...

How much power do you want to make, what is your use for the car, and what is your budget?

I have the same question. I want to reach around 200 hp. Not looking towards turbo either. Will nitrous work? Budget around 600. any ideas?

$600 would get you a good start at a nitrous system. You also need a rpm/tps switch, bottle heater, fuel pump, ect. Your fuel system has to be in perfect shape to run something like this. im personaly looking at the new nitrous express proton system. they can be had with a 10pnd bottle for around 400. nitrous will not wear out your engine if used correctly.

Building your system:
-50 hp and less: If your injectors are verified as perfect, go dry. I recommend Venom.
If not, use a single fogger mounted 4-6” in front of the Throttle plates. Add an upgraded pump, plumb your feed line out of the banjo bolt. Use a nitrous filter, and get a bottle heater and a nitrous pressure gauge. 4-AN nitrous feed line. Safety Blow off Valve.

75 hp and less: same set-up as wet kit as listed above.

Sounds like nitrous is the route for you. There is a pretty good nitrous article in the 2nd gen archive section.

Well I'm well I'm looking to spend 500 give or take. I'm not exactly sure of the horse power I'm currently at now. But I'm looking toward 225-250. I've found a zex system that goes off the tps. Not to sure? I'm new with nitrus. School me

I don't know much about running nitrous as I've never done it. The archive post I mentioned is a good place to start. I'm not a huge fan of power in a bottle but it has its purposes. Often the easiest and most overlooked way to get power out of that NA.

link to the thread that Aaron mentioned.

an s4 na will put down around 140ish if i remember right. i would suggest a 75-100hp "shot." iv heard good things about zex. im just not one for having a giant purple bottle. make sure the kit has a rpm window switch too.

to fill a tank your looking around 3.50 to as high as 7.50 a pound.

id suggest the turbo route though. nitrous is fun and a great source of a few extra hp but it gets expensive. Aaron Cake has a great write up on how to turbo an na.

Well there's a chrome bottle they offer. I just want a basic simple QUiCK power. To me it seems to be a pain in the *** to turbo a n/a. I would just get a s4-s5 turbo and rebuild it with street port or bridge port if I want to go turbo. Nitrous seems more simple.

its is quite a bit simpler to run juice but you cant use it constantly. with a turbo you can. i also say to look at a turbo as its a great chance to poke around the engine bay and learn/break new things.

I can already tell you the six port turbo is a bad idea for you. It is a PITA and it says so in the article. A t2 swap would be a good idea if you change your mind about the nitrous.
