Question Possible alternator issue?

This is a minor thing, but I just want to make sure. My '93 FD, when I try to start it, it tries turning itself over, but it cant make it to fully power and turn on. the battery doesnt seem to be dead, but could it just need a big more juice from a jump, or could it be an alternator issue? It's been taking a bit to start it lately, it takes a bit of turnover time, so could it be the alternator going? I'm just trying to make sure it isnt just something I could jump and call it a day, instead of spending 150$+ to buy a new alternator. Thanks in advance!

Test battery voltage with the engine off and with it running. It should be about 12.5 vdc off, and about 13.5-14 vdc when running. If voltage is low while running, that points to an alternator problem. If the battery just isn't holding a charge, it should be replaced. Auto parts stores can test a battery or alternator to diagnose.
