Oil Pan Baffle Plate
I know that the purpose of the baffle plate is to get rid of air bubbles in the oil. Is there any use for something like this in a stock NA, or is it more of a high-performance thing?

It is a high-performance thing or for someone that pushes the engine to the limit for long amounts of time. Examples of which are road racing, time trials, et cetera. Racing Beat, Pineapple Racing, and I believe Atkins sells them. It does help to alleviate the aeration of oil as it is circulating in the engine. In the 2nd generation technical section choose search for "oil pan baffle plate" and you will get a lot of information about them, installing, where to buy, so on.

MOST times you will se a baffle plate in road racing for movement, from pickup..but almost always it is a compliment of oil modifactions such as running at 1oo psi oil pressures ..this would cause the oil to squirt into the pan causing much mroe bubbles and thus airation....
in most streetable aplications this is not really needed..but its only a flat peice of aluminum and therefore what harm is there in putting it in anyway.........I think if you can afford one buy it....my 2 cents

It really has little to do with oil bubbles or windage. The baffle plate just keeps oil from sloshing away from the pickup in high G situations like launching or cornering.
Not really necessary on a street car, and it can be harder to seal up the pan with another layer in there.

yea as I said up top...mostly for movement..but i have seen airated fluid when not using it on my race car..I run 110 psi constanly and one time i didnt put it in and found my oil was much more foamy than usually....PUT it back in and voila all good...I also run a modified pan for cooling but that wasnt the cause
