newbie with 94 Rx7, Q re: suspension, ABS, 5th gear, A/C

hi all, just got a 94 rx7 with 91K, taken care of by previous owner with Rotary Power....

The 5th gear synchro bad...just read, I better get it fixed soon...

the a/c isn't working.... will try filling Freon first but possible compressor issue ? seems theres enough rebuilt denso compressors on ebay.... ?

ABS light is on... what is the typical issue here ? abs pump ? how much ?

the stock oil pressure and water temp. gauges are working but .... on a stock car, twin turbo still, is there any other gauges I should have ? thinking about that 2 gauge setup that replaces the tweeter location on rx7.com website... ?

the shifter is kinda 'loose', I bought a 'short shifter'... is there a way to change the spring or something and make it a bit more 'tight' /notchier ?

no synthetic oil on these ? due to the seal ?

if I use 2 stroke oil add to gas, is that ok for the cat. converter ? just passed CA smog so...

please advise/comment on above,

thanks

read thread below. yes you can use 2 stroke in gas. oil was going into the comb chamber anyway via metering pump, so it would assume it's similar to stock situation regarding cat and emissions (?). but keep in mind if EMP is still on, you are oiling twice at times. you could also have a 2 stroke resevoir for the OMP if you don't want to delete it - which is not as simple as taking it off the car.

emp, eop issue

oh wow... had NO idea such thing existed on fd cars... have no idea if mine has it but i'm gonna find out and have it removed; as I will rather fill 2 stroke oil into the gas tank than have a 4 stroke oil burn in the chamber....
I'm already used to 'premixes' as we ride 2 stroke dirt bikes so, no big deal...

I;m gonna check the oil level too...

curious, when does the oil usually get squirted into the motor typically? at high revving or what ?

That's a real pain to fix. Need to drop the transmission then pull the extension housing. Search "David Geesaman FD Transmission Rebuild".

Try to isolate your problem first before going out and buying parts. Is it mechanical or electrical? Start with a full Freon charge first and make sure there's no leaks. Check the FSM for more details

Again, isolate your problem and refer to the FSM. Could be mechanical or electrical. Make sure you have all the parts for the system to work.

The stock water temp gauge sucks and you should consider it broken. It is fixable, but not worth the effort IMHO. Get an aftermarket gauge and boost gauge.

Most short shifters are garbage. Go back to stock and you won't be disappointed.

Use mineral oil if you retain the stock OMP. If you delete the OMP, you can use synthetic but you'll need to premix some 2 cycle oil in your gas to lubricate the housings. Since the engine is designed to burn oil, there should be no issues with the cat or emissions if you aren't overdoing the premix. You can also cut back the premix when you have to get it smoged. More important than a little oil in your gas is retaining the stock cat and air pump.

Good luck

I'd humbly suggest if metering pump is removed labeling your gas cap in case some one else ever fills it up with gas, they won't know... Also be sure to read the ECU part of the linked doc.
