I read that you should start with the stock turbo for your series, s5 turbo2. Use the stock turbo2 intake manifolds and port match the lower to N/A block. Use the stock exhaust manifold. Youll need all these parts from an S5 Turbo2 : afm, tps, ecu, injectors, fuel pump, starter, flywheel, clutch, turbo2 trans (optional but recommended), rear end (optional if you have LSD already but recommended), downpipe, clutch slave cylinder i think. If your going to turbo conversion it, you should get it rebuilt and break it in

as Aaron explains, this is a do-able, but fantastically complicated process fraught with peril.

Buy a j-spec TII engine, rebuild it, put on a BNR stage 3 and run an RTek. Should come in at under $4000.

Don't turbocharge the existing NA engine unless you enjoy the challenge of fabrication.

hate to say this here but imma buy a v8 swapped 87 turbo 2 seven for 700 and ill have more power than my na but, imma a rotary man threw and threw, and may end up purchasing a turbo 2 engine and swapping it in and selling the v8 or put it in my ranger since its a 302 and will bolt right to the manual trans. and its a gay *** ford v8 no doubt

at this very moment on ebay u can buy a 20b swap for 4k. rather than have a turbo 13b u could have a twin turbo 20b cosmo and some cheaper ones for 3500. for 300 hp and 300 torque right off the line.

putting a 20b in your FC or any Rx7 is not a direct bolt in and drive away. it requires lots of fabrication and money like around 10 grand to do it by yourself and more if a shop does it for you. If you take the v8 out of the t2 you are going to need a new driveshaft too along with all the wiring and drivetrain

the v8 isnt wired yet so i was honestly all piston rotary hate aside i felt i could make the v8 my drag car and just do some basic mods and then have some fun with a lot of torque. keep the rotary for dd sports car and the v87 for the strip. and thanks for correcting mr cabby i didnt realize all that was involved in doing a 20b swap. would be fun though

No, you can't buy a 20B swap for $4K. You can buy a 20B engine for $4K, which will then need to be rebuilt (+$2K) and then installed (anywhere from another $4K to the sky is the limit). The 20B is like any other engine swap from another car. Fabrication is required to fit it and all the engine systems will have to be replaced/modified to make it work.

i dont hate pistons, i like a lot of v8 powered cars like the camaro and vettes I just wont find myself buying one lol. I feel that putting a V8 in an original rotary powered car is stupid and takes away from the car itself. I mean for 700 bucks you are getting a hell of a deal even if its not wired up but to each his own so if you like the car then get it and run the **** out of it. No problem on the correcting, I figured it would be good for you to know that you cant just buy the 20b and drop it in and drive. It is my goal to do a 20b swap to my FC in the next coming years. I have looked into it before so that is how I know the info I do. It would be great if I could find the money to do it lol. There is a place an hour away from where I live that is selling 13bt engines, 13bre, 13brew engines and the 20b all for around the same price, $1,500. So if I do the swap Ill probably get it from there

Well basically you should use a Turbo2 transmission because it is the strongest but you can use an N/A transmission but if you beat on the car with the N/A transmission it will break and you'll be forced to buy a new one which at that time would be a good time to swap a Turbo2 transmission in there. But to answer your question a S5 N/A transmission will work with the right Turbo 2 parts (clutch, flywheel, clutch master cylinder, etc) for a Turbo2 swap. If you are making a 6 port turbo or N/A to turbo you still would need these parts.

A stock 13BT will run fine on the NA transmission at around the 200HP level. If you start upgrading, you will break the NA transmission fairly easily.

All 2nd gen turbo RX-7s are single turbo. The 3rd gen RX-7 is twin turbo.

You can use any TII transmission out of any model TII on any 13B NA or turbo engine.

I suggest you check the FAQ and read the writeups on turbo swaps as it will answer a lot of your questions.

ROTage244 if you are confused by the terms there is a thread posted in the very beginning of the new member section that will cover a lot of the abreviations used on this forum. n/a = naturally aspirated. 13bt = 13b turbo engine for a second gen. 13btt which actual name is 13brew is the Twin Turbo 13b engine from 3rd gens. S4 = Series 4 second gen rx7s. S5 = Series 5 second gen rx-7s. Turbo2 = a model second gen rx-7 with the 13b-t engine.
