Guys, it's an R1 with 43K miles. I'm friends with the last owner and work with him locally. The car got in a fender bender about 10 years ago, so he switched out the front end to the current Knight Sport setup to let more cool air into the radiator. I can tell you a lot about the car. Contact me via PM. IMO, take it easy with her, especially in the heat. Intake temps over 50C and water temps over 210F are not good for rotary reliability. Is this going to be your daily driver or weekend fun car. I'm hoping the latter.

R1 is good, gives him dual oil coolers. And I figured it was low mileage from the looks of the engine bay. Total agreement with the temps. Any idea if the PO ever changed out the fan thermoswitch for the S5? And does he have a full belly pan under that bumper?

Talk about total luck!

And agreed, watch the heat on any RX7 matter of fact. Get a water temp gauge because the stock gauge is terrible.

Yes, in fact he ditched the factory plastic undertray and fabricated a heavy duty one out of aluminum to fit nice and snug with the KnightSports front nose. Doubt if he switched to the lower temp thermoswitch. I know he had a freakishly rich running stock ECU that I doubt he ever switched out. To me, that would be one of my top things to address before making any other changes to the intake or exhaust path.
