Hey People,
So I was driving my 81 GSL and pulled over to check my mail when I got back into my car I let it sit for a min at an idle. Then it sputtered and died I tried to start it back up and it would not start. I poped the hood and the only thing i could find was the wire that goes to the alternator was loose. So I tried to tighten it and the bolt broke off so I replaced the alternator and it still will not start. This is a new car to me I also have a 1983 RX-7 with a broke rear end. But it starts. The kid I got the car from removed the smog pump and the vacuum stuff and i don't think he did it right. When I first got the car I had to tow it home. But I was able to get it running after going through the flooding procedure and it was running fine. Then all of a sudden it just quit.
So here is what i all ready tried:
Replaced the alternator (broken bolt)
New spark plugs
New cap and rotor
Changed the Coils
Tried the flooded procedure (to get all the built up gas out of it)
Changed the Ignition Chips on the side of the distributor
I will try anything to get it running so all ideas welcome
Thank you for your time
