A little help forrr a nooob ? :D
Helllooo everyonee , i'm obviously as you can see new here .
I plan on buying a 3rd Gen Rx7 regardless of how everyone tells me they're unreliable . I've wanted one for a while now andd plan to get on soon .
This willl be my first car andd i'd likee to know what would be the basics to keeping this beast healthy andd how to tune it right. I know a little bit about cars but i'd likee to fix it up not as a track dragracing car but not as a daily driver , so if any one could help guideee me to where whaat's first thing first , thaat'd be nice anddd sorry for being a nooob , my passsion is to fix up a rx7 . It's my one andd only dream car.

I got my FC for $500 and I am completely in love with it, I have had it for 2 years now.
Get good enough in your FC to beat everybody then consider buying an FD; that way you will actually be skilled enough to drive it fast in the canyons (the only true racing if you ask me ). I see FDs all day and they just can't push their car or if they can are unwilling to. In my experience people in FCs are just crazier drivers.
About once a month a wrecked FD is towed into Rotorsports with the same ol' story of some kid wrecking his car that daddy bought for him. Of course this is not true for everyone who gets an FD right off the bat, but it is common. If you know how to drive and have some deep pockets or are willing to do all the work yourself than an FD might be right up your alley.
BTW I am graduating to an FD myself in 2 weeks here... I've been driving slow underpowered good handling cars in the canyons for 5 years now and I am tired of it . I will always own my FC though, I love that thing to death.
Well whatever you buy I wish you the best of luck and hope you have a lot of fun.

Yep they usually wreck the FD's because they don't know what happens when that 2nd turbo kicks in when they decide to floor it around a curve.
If this is your first car you'll probably wrap it around a tree or something, no offense, its not a beginners car.
Besides, $230 won't even get you insurance at your age, let alone a down payment on an FD. I probably spend $200 in gas for it a month. Ballpark figure is $12-$15k for the car by itself, and probably several thousand more to fix odds and ends problems per year. The insurance will kill you at your age.

honestly man, buying any used car, you should have a little money saved up for anything that might go wrong. you dont want to be stuck in a situation where you have to fix something, but you will go broke if you fix it.
that takes the joy out of building up any used car.
thats just my opinion.

I agree with all the FC talk. FD's are a whole different beast. Get you an FC. Non-turbo would probably be best to start. Especially at your age. Work on handling for a while. Don't worry about power. I wouldn't do any engine mods for a while. Maybe just exhaust to give you a little more pep-in-yer-step. Stick with upgrading struts and springs, adding a front strut tower brace and sway bars. Maybe rims and tires if you wish. Master that, then move on to bigger and better things. Good luck kid. Any questions, just ask.
