COOL! i have one too! on my 88 FC. except mine is for the 87 championship. i was wondering the same thing, did it come from Mazda, the dealer, or did the original owner put it there?
love that sticker, prof that the RX-7 rulz all!!!
IMSA is the governing body of the LE Mams series. so i guess mazda won the manufacturers title each year. will have to go look it up

The 1971 season was the first racing season, and featured six races. GT cars, similar to the European classes Group 2 and Group 4, were competing in the early seasons. They were divided into four groups.
* GTO cars were Grand Touring type cars with an engine of 2.5 L displacement or more. [3] This category was dominated by the Corvettes, then by the Shelby Mustangs and then the various factory teams consisting of Cougars, RX-7s, Celicas and finally, the 300ZX.
* GTU cars were Grand Touring type cars with engines of 2.5 L displacement or less. This series was dominated by the Porsche 914-6, then the Datsun 280ZX and finally by the SA22 Mazda RX-7s (1978-1985) through the end of the 80's.
* TO were a touring-type car such as Camaro with an engine of 2.5 L or more displacement.
* TU were a touring-type car with an engine of 2.5 L or less displacement.

Mazda began racing RX-7s in the IMSA GTU series in 1979. That first year, RX-7s placed first and second at the 24 Hours of Daytona, and claimed the GTU series championship. The car continued winning, claiming the GTU championship seven years in a row. The RX-7 took the GTO championship ten years in a row from 1982. The RX-7 has won more IMSA races than any other car model.

I's got one too
I have an 84 GSL-SE and it came with the sticker in the window, still there after 26 years and is less faded than the plastic trim ![Smilie](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I think mine is for years 80, 81 and 82.

My 83 doesn't have one anymore but you can still see the outline when you look really close at the glass. I saw an 84 at the junk yard that had one and Ive seen a couple of first gens with them as well. I think they might have been a factory thing just for bragging purposes.

iVe got one, when i first bought the car from the 4rth owner i thought it was a gtu , but i later found out it wasnt, and also found out that one of the preivous owners raced it in scca auto cross, i figured the sticker was from there, but guess it came from the factory which is kinda cool.
