Immediate mods for my 82 FB
I recently purchased my 1982 FB and was wondering what mods i should complete first. I want to build this car correctly from the beginning so I was wondering what problems I need to address right now. What oil should I run? What should I delete? Mainly I am still quite fuzzy when it comes to oiling and lubricating the engine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

10W30 oil. I run Idemitsu oil, but it is pretty pricy. I would also suggest premixing, which is mixing two stroke oil into the gas every fill up to provide better lubrication of the combustion engine. Any TCW3 two stroke oil works, but I use Idemitsu premix oil which is also pricey. I guess I like to throw money at my fluids. I know that you posted about trying to start the car for the first time, so focus on that before buying parts to mod the car. After you get the car running, then start doing things. I'd start with the suspension and brakes. Replace all of your bushings and rubber mounts. Then inspect the brake pads and flush the brakes as well. After your chassis is up to spec with no worn parts, you can start modding things. Basic stuff is full exhaust, strut bars, decent intake and carb setup, etc. I would recommend some really good performance tires for your first "mod". But basically do maintenance things before going ***** to the wall.
Edit: Mix in .5 to 1 oz of oil when premixing if you still have your oil metering pump, OMP, hooked up. If it's been deleted, then mix 1.5 to 2 oz of premix. I mix 2 oz on my turbo FC since I removed the OMP.

exactly what Sudowoodo said. the most important modifications right now are the repairs (and rebuilding) that you will need to transform the car from a piece of lawn/garage furniture into a working sports car.
it is true that you can take the opportunity to make upgrades where you can as you embark on that journey (stainless/Teflon lines, nice brake pads, bushings, etc.), but those should be addressed on an individual basis because they may not fit your personal taste for driving and life with the car.
it doesn't matter so much what oil you use in the car, as it does you treat the engine right with whatever oil you do choose. there is a very recent thread in this forum that covers the pros and cons of premix vs. MOP. the takeaway from that thread though is ideally you should do one or the other, but premix can be an easy backup plan.
Sudowoodo's post is good general guide to follow, then you can research and suss out the finer points.
