got a 280z, with a 280zx swap need some technical help with msd and haltech e11v2 compatability.. I just saw the thread posted last year and saw there someone to help me... I got a msd 6a, I have haltech e11, v2 do I need the BTM? boost timing master? I can get one for $150, and also what else do I need to hook up the msd 61 to the haltech? I read on the other thread just have the standard msd 6a, and the haltech and get a good tune, but I know I needtime retard during boost.. for sure.. didnt know if haltech can do that, I know it can set timing but not for During boost? So please any advice or info will be so helpfull.. Im boosting 15 - 20lbs and have everything set up except the msd 6a and if I need the BTM (*wich I was told I do need to so I dont detonate early*)

The MSD gets connected between the stock ignitor and the leading coil. This is the easiest configuration though there are other ways to connect it.

The Haltech has full timing maps which you will use to control timing in and out of boost. Buying the retard box for the MSD isn't necessary.

On what turbo will you be running 15 to 20 PSI?

OK, for some reason I thought you were putting a 13B into a 280Z.

As this is an RX-7 forum, I don't know what ignition system your engine uses. I would assume that it is a distributor with some kind of pickup. If that is the case, the dizzy needs to be locked and the Haltech can drive the ignition coil through an ignitor, or by directly firing the MSD box.
