Exclamation FD3S Ignition coil wiring help pls!

Hello Guys.
I have a 1998 FD3S rx7 and i just did a rebuild on it as it had a gasket leak. (O-Ring compression leak) Bought it off a guy who couldnt find anybody to overhaul the engine.
At first it was very hard to start the car. after many cranks it fires up and runs well. cannot give gas as it starts to detonate very loud (Like a shotgun being fired) and after a few minutes (Usually 5 Minutes) of running a coolant hose will burst.
So removed the engine and did an overhaul with 2mm apex seals, solid corner seals and side seals and all new o-rings from Atkins Rotary
My problem is that the car is not starting now. Its an engine mechanic who did the rebuild.
The injectors were tested and they are working.
Had it being towed and tried to start but doesnt run at all. towed for almost 5km's.
The plug wires have been correctly plugged as well. (Doubt the sequence though)
Then the mechanic had changed the ignition coil wires.
Now it starts hesitantly and there is a misfire and detonation when trying to rev up. Theres no idle and stalls immediately when throttle is released. This happened only once and didnt start again. Flooded maybe?
Can anyone advice on the reason for detonation? Believe me its very very loud!!
I have uploaded an image of the ignition coils. Can someone confirm if the coil wiring is correct? (The trigger wires)
The wires can be plugged in the other way round as well.
Also are the coils fitted the way it should be? Ive seen a pic from the repair manual that shows the coil that powers two plugs together are in the center.
Ive attached that pic as well.
Can any experts shed some light on this please?

Ive finally managed to start the car but there is alot of detonation and backfiring.

Here is the link to the video

(Sorry for the crappy quality)
We couldnt seem to find any faults so we stripped down the engine again. Still cannot identify the problem.
Any help?

well first issue is your leading coil(the dual coil unit) is in the wrong location and plugged into the wrong connector. it should be where the blue connector is in the middle location.

coil towards the front:
T1 top front rotor housing spark plug

coil toward the rear of the car:
T2 top rear rotor housing spark plug

dual coil in the middle location:
L1 bottom front rotor housing spark plug
L2 bottom rear rotor housing spark plug

any one of the wires or coils misrouted will cause the engine to run erratically like that.

For some reason the coils cannot be changed. The mechanic said the bolts wont lineup. Iam not sure if he even tried changing their location. Besides this is not the steel bracket thats holding the 3 coils. its an aluminium bracket. newer seen that on older models though. Thats why its hard to compare with other engine bay pics.
Besides the wires to the plugs are fitted correctly. The dual coil wires goes to L1 & L2 and front coil to T1 & rear coil to T2
Just need to see if the power supply to the coil is wired in correctly. There are 3 colours of sockets for each coil. White, blue & black.
Any suggestions for this?
