FL ID a Transmission

I have a Transmission Manual 5 Speed in my garage, and I was needing to ID what it came from. I know it was from a Gen 2. I was going to sell it, but I need to have a little more info than a Gen 2.
Any clue on how to ID a Trans?

Did you look for a Vin or part number anywhere on it yet?

There are two main families of transmissions used in the 2nd gen: the M type used in the NA, and the R type used in the TII.

The R type has a removable bellhousing, two circular inspection portals on the side of the gearbox, a removable inspection plate on the bottom. It looks beefy and is heavy, with strengthening ribs around the gearbox. There are two fill and drain plugs.

The M type has a non-removable bellhousing, no inspection plate and is much smaller and lighter. The case is smooth, with a single drain and fill.

I tried to Post a Photo of it ( I haven't quit figured out how to do that yet) but, it looks identical to my 91 GTU's Transmission but this one doesnt have the plug by the shifting fork that the 91 has.

I haven't cleaned it up to look for the Number on it yet. I figured if I found a # I would then need to find a way to translate it
