How hard/time consuming to __?
I'm buying a s4 keg off the forum because my s5 engine has slowly lost seal(s).
It needs rebuilt bad (10mpg highway 8city, tons of coolant smoke, bubbles in coolant res. etc.).
Anyways; I don't have a garage or engine harness so I've luckily found someone that will let me use theirs and help me with this whole ordeal.
I can devote 24hrs/day to this and so can a few other people that have offered to help.
What I'm wonder is if anyone has done this before and how long it took them?
I haven't done anything this intensive with the fc yet; I'm looking foward to it though.
The other guys have, and are free.
Just wondering how many days/weeks I need to take off work to get my Daily Driver/love on the road again?

If you're highly motivated and know what you're doing, it can be done in a day or two. Keep in mind you'll need to transfer the S5 front cover/OMP, all manifolds, electronics & wiring over to the new S4 engine.
Here's the rundown for pulling an engine (putting it back is just the reverse anyway):
1) Remove hood
2) Pull fan shroud, fan, radiator, air box, TMIC
3) Disconnect oil cooler lines at the engine
4) Unplug all connectors from engine & front harnesses
5) Unplug emissions harness from ECU and feed back through to engine bay
6) Disconnect fuel lines & driver-side heater hose
7) Unbolt A/C pump from P/S rack and zip-tie to the side of the bay (4 long bolts)
8) Disconnect P/S lines (2)
9) Remove starter / unbolt transmission
10) Place a jack or 2x4 under the transmission bell housing to support it
11) Remove nuts from motor mounts
12) Pull engine forward, up and out
I think that's it. I've done it 4 times now, so hopefully I didn't forget anything.
EDIT: If these are NA engines we're talking about, the rear iron of the S4 block will need to be ground down to allow the S5 intake manifolds to fit. Go here and look at part 2C: http://howto.globalvicinity.com/gv_w...i=45&co=1&vi=1
