Help with oil in exhaust!!!
i just recently put a brand new turbo in my 13b. last turbo had blown seals.
recently as in tonight. started it up with out exhaust pipe on turbo. right off the bat it started smoking. at first i thaught it was just running really rich but got to looking at it and it was a blue/ white color. stut down the engine and stick my fingers right on the inside of the exhaust side of turbo and it was black and smelt like fuel. started the engine again and ran it for a min or two. this time it was more black and less fuel smell, and was thicker. Again started the engine ran at 1500 RPM for a min and seemed less smoky. shut down. check the exhaust and was more black and more oily.
Car ran like ****. sputtered and seemed like it was missing.
Car sat in -30 to 40 degree weather for a month n a half.
any ideas if its just oil from the bad turbo that seeped into the headers and is just blowing oil from it or is it that oil coming from the engine because it has no valve only ports?
any ideas help in any way.
thanks

If your turbo blew and you just replaced it,Then I would assume that the Exhaust would still have oil residue in it,and it needs to Burn off.
Did you put a Restrictor on the Turbo "oil feed" to prevent it from getting excessive oil pressure?.(just a thought)
If you think that the Exhaust has a lot of oil in it,then you could Get "****" about it,and disassemble the piping and wipe it out, assemble it and see if that solves your problem...That is if you feel like going that Far with it.
I myself would just keep an eye on the Exhaust and monitor the Color of the "smoke".If there is nothing wrong, except residual oil from your old turbo taking a dump, then the Smoke should subside and you can enjoy your ride!
I'm sure more guys will chime in..so that is My .02..Cheers.
