Is your AFM plugged in? Is there a huge vacuum leak between the AFM and throttle body?

Maybe the injectors were put in wrong and are leaking.

How do you know the injectors are fine?

Are they plugged in correctly?

Are the fuel lines run correctly? Filter -> primary rail @ PD -> secondary rail -> from FPD back to tank

How exactly did you "adjust" the butterflies? You'll want to put those back to stock.

Not true at all.

What is the history of this car? Has it been sitting?

You purchased brand new injectors?

Did you clean all the crud out of the fuel tank?

Try jumping the fuel pump test connector (yellow connector at passenger shock tower) and starting the car.

Do you have brand new injectors?

By crud, I mean all the junk that would have accumulated in the fuel tank. Varnish, rust, etc.

Jumper the test connector with anything like a small piece of wire, paper clip, hair pin, etc.

if the gas has been in there for a few years its better to drain it out and fill it back up with some new gas then to add fuel preserver, that would also be the time to clean the tank out.

@ Aaron Cakes you salty mother. you sound like you know what you're doing but, how bout you explain to us idiots exactly what it is we're talking about. I was a jet mechanic for 6 years and figured i'd be able to keep my GTU going forever but alas i have the same problem. my car has always had the typical flooding problems. it sat for a few years. I got a new battery. started it up then drove cross country to san diego. it started and ran fine for a month or so and now its crapped out. i've done the de-flood procedure all the way through ATF new sparkplugs everything twice. the car will start and i don't know if its when i let off the gas or go past a certain RPM becuase i just get so excited when it starts i lose my mind. It always shuts off. I think it might cut out when i turn the key back after ignition. does that make any sense?? what is the AFM?? and what exactly does that yellow connector do? i've seen in the repair manuals a few times it says to "bridge the connector? is that the same thing that you're saying?? after my car starts in runs for a few seconds BEAUTIFULLY!!! i mean it sounds as good as the day i bought it minus the white smoke and fuel smell. What are some other steps I can take. changing out fuel injectors is a bitch is it not?? they Haynes manual doesn't exaclty make it sound easy. I think i might have the same problem as rotaryforme. i don't understand what could go wrong after it was running so beautifully. any help would save my life.

the yellow connector will tell you whether your fuel pump is working correctly or not and to bridge the connector is what aaroncake already explained in his last post. changing out the injectors isnt that hard, the secondaries are under the upper intake manifold. thats what makes it sound so hard in the haynes manual. it sounds as if your injectors are leaking or fuel pump is sending too much fuel and the air flow meter could also be the problem. maybe the throttle position sensor is so far out of adjustment its running extremely rich.
