To have 400 whp for Street FD
#77
Johnny I run their kit. Here are the pictures I have from the install. Everything went together very well and its all v banded. I broke the Tial v-band clamp for the DP so the one on my setup is not the one that comes with theirs. Had to go out and buy one locally cause I was in a hurry.

I don't think I can pass the smog with single, so I will keep all my stock parts for the smog every 2 years. However, I have AST and battery under the hood,,,,,,
Now I have options with GT35 or BorgWarner 8374,,,,,,

What you can do if you want is see if Turblown can make a setup with the 8374 that keeps your emissions. That way you aren't trying to revert to stock every 2 years. There's alot more that goes into doing that than just putting the airpump and old turbos back on. 3/4s of your vacuum hoses are going to be going away with the single setup. In the end, its your car and your car but if you want to stay emissions legal, I would choose a setup that can facilitate that from the get go and remove them once you no longer need them.
The AST and battery under the hood only limit what you can do as far as intercooler setups, the turbo isn't affected by those things.

I didn't think about the famous Vacuum Hoses!!!
What do you recomend for Turbo for me for Daily Reliability?
GT35, GTX35, BW7670, or BW8374?
I know that I can ask those questions to shops, but I want to get some advise from the forum before I call them up.
Thank, again!

I don't have any experience with the EFR so I can't speak to it but it's getting a lot of praise on the forums.
I would say the GTX3582r or the 8374 EFR.
In the end, it's up to you and what your personal goals. Both turbos can support up to 400+ hp. I would focus first on what your needs out of your car are. Do you need something that will give you great low end response for Autocross? Good overall powerband for general use or track? Max power for drag or rolls?
I personally am very happy with the GT3582r. It fits my needs. I might switch to a GTX or EFR in the future. But only if I am able to retain emissions until the car becomes exempt. But that would put me out of my class in Autocross so I would want to keep them for the time being.

I contacted Eliot @ Turblown.
I think I am going with EFR 8374 with IWG.
Adoptronics, SP400 for the Fuel, and New Clutch, but the money is the issue,,,,,,
Any comments?

I didn't ask to Elliot about keeping the AP, yet.
I am 100% sure that I am going with EFR 8374, but I am not sure about the fuel upgrade.
I am thinking 255LPH and 1300 cc secondaries for the fuel to save money, and spend more money onto ignitions.

I would look into going with a little bit larger secondary injector just so you future proof yourself. But Elliot would probably be able to get you setup with the right stuff for your particular setup and goals.

It is fun that I read from Page 1 of my post before order anything to remind of me being newbie at the first place,( I am not saying that I am an expert, not even close,,,), and the basic things that I have to do before the mods or even driving.
Thanks, again!

The 7670 IWG and EWG FD system both fit the OEM airpump. I was told the automatic air pump is even smaller and will fit even better. The Airpump lower bracket needs to be modified to clear an air filter. Both fit RHD too... I do have pictures somewhere also...
