GSL-SE Question
i have had a few 12a fist gens, loved them. worked great, i'm pretty good at solving carb problems with the nikkis and holleys...now im older getting back into it. found a sweet gsl-se, with a bad motor...replaced the motor with a good used motor i got from a friend. i want to keep the fuel injection...always wanted to learn more about it...maybe turbo later.
for now, i have removed all the emissions, junk. similar to the 12a's. car started right up, ran smooth until. it warmed up. it would get a rough idle. (not leaking water into the motor). for about a week. now it floods, i noticed the pulsation damper is missing the little screw, could that be it? anyone know what thread? or how long it needs to be? can i buy one at lowes?
anyother ideas? thanks. new to the gsl-se

Rough idle is typically vacuum leaks or a TPS issue.
If the screw in the PD has fallen out, it will soon start to leak fuel. There is no way to replace it, so you must source a replacement PD or you can do the "banjo bolt mod" that some resort to. This involves removing the PD altogether.
Flooding on hot-starts can be due to a combination of engine age and Mazda's extra rich start map. It can also be due to dirtyl/leaky injectors dripping after the engine has been shut off.
