To be dreadfully honest, you sound like you're about 14 years old based on your post. All the pre-requisites are there; drifting, JDM, NOS, the 411, Civic and asking questions that are already covered in the FAQ. I'm not trying to be insulting, but if this is the image you are presenting of yourself it's going to be hard to get decent answers on this forum.

OK, first things first. You can use synthetic oil if you wish. The "no synthetic" rule was based on early synthetics leaving deposits as they are burned. Newer oils don't really have this problem.

You will find instructions on how to perform a turbo swap in the 2nd gen FAQ. This is covered in great detail as it's the most often asked question on the whole of this forum. There are multiple writeups with complete parts lists and step by step instructions. You will need the entire drivetrain from a TII, the AFM, harness and ECU. Plus a few other misc items listed in the FAQ.

If you want to actually turbocharge the NA engine, that's a lot more work which requires some fabrication and if you have to ask, you shouldn't do it. There are currently no turbo kits which turn the NA RX-7 into a turbo-NA RX-7...at least yet. I can say with some good guessing that there might be one on the market soon.

The FAQ is your most important resource at this point and will probably answer all your questions.

a turbo doesn't just bolt on to a NA, it's generally cheaper to start with a TII

since rotaries actually burn some oil by design (kinda like a 2 cycle motor) synthetic is not recommended because some will produce extra carbon ash
and carbon lock is something you don't wanna learn about the hard way

you will wanna get the DTSS eliminator bushings for your rear suspensions and and limited slip rear diff (LSD) depending on the model RX-7 you have, as not all models are equippeds with LSD's

the first thing I would plan on doing is changing ALL the fluids, belts spark plugs, etc.. drive the car as is for awhile to get a feel for it then start in on it

The FAQ's are the best place for you to start, but to answer a few of your q's.

1. Rotaries are different, but extremely simple if you ask me.
2. Oil, you should use regular oil OR VERY VERY VERY GOOD SYNTHETIC. Mazda Racing uses good synthetic, like Amsoil or Idemitsu.
3. The N/A is much higher compression and has to have almost all the turbo stuff fabricated for it, it is easier and usually just as cheap to just drop in a turbo2 drivetrain.

ok as for the first person the 411 civic jdm and nos goes...
411 is my bad bro sorry i suppose...
im twenty and i built a civic another sorry i guess. everyone here in kfalls oregon still talks about JDM styles motors differences such as the jdm h22 parts are set up differnt the crank angle sensor and belt tensioners and everything are set up different so you get used to letting people know its a jdm motor so you guys dont talk about two different things.
and the nos was supposed to be no no's not nos. so thanks for ripping me apart.

as for everyones answers to the actual questions i really appreciate the input even the first guys i checked out the faqs and they were the most helpful of any thing i have ever seen.ever. i feel like i understand alot more now. as far as me sounding like im "14" its probably because i am a complete noob at this **** and dont wanna act like i think i know everything. so if ANYONE can give me some more pointers while im browsing this amazing site feel free. im looking right now to find out about suspension. i have been in love with drifting since i was about 15 so about 5 years now and dont 100 % understand how to set up the suspension for the best overall out come.
