fuel line size?

I have a 83 rx7 gs and I went through the car and replaced fuel lines I replaced the limes running to gas tank and ore and after fuel filter I replaced after fuel pump lines and replaced fuel to carb and return line but I replaced all those with 5/16" line and also I took of this silver filter thing that was in the middle of the stock line for fuel return from carb. I was just wondering that since I replaced all those lines with that gauge line will It cause problems? My carb runs really rich and I think it might be due to my lines :/

they naturally run rich. the fuel lines have nothing to do with it. if it turns out that it's indeed running abnormally rich, then adjust the mixture per the FSM.

it's up to you, but I like to keep the valve in the fuel circuit when running the Nikki.

Yea I guess but when I mean rich I mean when I turn the key to the on position the fuel pump runs fine but I notice it just starts leaking fuel in the.secondarys then it floods and I can't start it.

that doesn't sound right. trace the lines back and see what kind of fuel pump you have on there, or if you have access to a gauge, see what kind of pressure you're running. if the pressure checks out, then i'd say checking the floats would be your next step.

when you do get it to start, how does it idle?

I get it to start if it hasn't been started In a while I run the pump for about 5 second it turns on it idles at 1k but sounds like a bridge port idk. The pumps a brand new airtex or airex pump 2-5 psi it has new ngk plugs new wires has new fluids everywhere and new fuel filter that's about it

check your sight glasses. do you know if the carb was rebuilt?

have you tried adjusting the mixture?

I will link a thread regarding the floats, but please, please, PLEASE perform an exhaustive investigation of your fuel supply - particularly your pressure - before you go messing with floats. if you start messing with them unnecessarily, you're opening a direct portal to a world called FRUSTRATION! measure the pressure the carb is actually seeing and see if lowering it makes any difference. if all of that checks out and you're still having the issue, then look into float adjustment.

Ok ill make sure to do that ...also when I first was getting my car running I take off the fuel filter gas started comming from tank into the container but it kept slowing down till I opened the gas cap it would kinda speed up again? Could it be the check valve above the tank? How would I test it
