First car, First rotary, First SA22C - Idle problem

Hey I just bought a 1979 Mazda RX-7, for 2 snowmobiles and $400cdn!!!! there isn't a spot of rust on it anywhere but a bit of surfice rust on the sun roof... I took the carb off and cleaned it and got her running but unfortanitly its idling at 6000 rpm and i cant figure out if it is the fast idle or the fuel mixture screw... if you got any tips please let me know, im new to the whole car thing and especilly new to the new rotary thing

make sure the throttle cable is reinstalled and adjusted correctly. or take it loose all together to make sure that's not holding the throttle open.

check the carb, when you took it off to clean you might have moved something that would keep the idle up. all the screws and flaps, throttle cables and such.

Do some reading over at www.sterlingmetalworks.com

Lots of info on the stock carbs, including troubleshooting and detailed instructions on how to tune the idle.
