A few newbie questions

Hey all, just got an RX7 on the weekend and have a couple of minor things I'd like to fix...

1. The choke doesn't open much - I've pulled the air cleaner off, and when I pull the choke out all the way, the choke plate in the carby only moves about half of what it should (gets me up to about 1200rpm). It feels like there's a spring that isn't pushing all the way? There's tension to a certain point, but beyond that, I can rotate the plate freely (towards being fully open) with no pressure. Any suggestions? I'm tempted to pull the thing apart and find out what's broken, but thought I better ask first.

2. When idling, it seems like there's a fairly low voltage... if I have the indicators on, the motor revs lower then higher in time with the indicator light going on and off, and if a dash light is on (say the handbrake light) it sort of flashes lightly, going a bit dim and then bright.

3. I'm also not convinced that the secondaries are coming on. I owned a S2 a few years ago, and there was a noticeable flat spot, and power hit, when you felt them open up... but there's nothing on this one. I've read that you test it by getting someone to jab the accelerator at idle, and with the air cleaner off, you should be able to see them open... is this a good idea?

Thanks.
