Hello all this will be my first forum post
Recently I've been having this issue with my 88 rx7 where it seems to not be getting fuel sent into the "chambers". Pretty much fuel is being sent through the rails and into the secondaries but not the primaries. I took off the primaries from the middle iron with the rail still attached to the injectors, no fuel was spewing from them, however I did the same with the secondaries and fuel would come out. I tested the primary injectors with two wires and a battery and I was not getting a pulse from them just occasional sparks. I tried another pair of injectors my friend had that were 450cc (the current ones are 550) and have not checked to see if fuel comes out of them since it's starting to get late. However I was hoping anyone of you lads might have any idea of what could be causing this issue. I should also note that the motor has a bridge port and before the port it ran pretty decently. I also have videos but since this is my first post on here I'm not sure If I can post them.
what kind of injectors (impedance type) are your 550s and your friend's 450s?
i think i read that the '88s were split in terms of injector type. i have never actually confirmed that that is the case though, so it might be worth looking into. do you happen to have the originals - maybe see if they work in the meantime.
Yes mine are 550 (this is all I know TwT) and my friends are 450 low impedance. It appears the wiring was backwards for the injectors so now I’m getting fuel to come out of both primary and secondary, but I’m being told the secondary shouldn’t be shooting fuel unless above 3800 rpm . I’ll send picture of the Frankenstein engine bay to help for reference.
when you said you were pulsing the secondaries, i thought you meant that you were doing them manually as well, so, you're saying you basically had the wiring for the primaries and secondaries swapped?
So I got it fixed now or at least I know what the issue is. The MAF went out, if I hold the flap open it’ll stay on but the second I let go it kills itself instantly.
