exhaust install FD

so today i began preparing and removing the stock exhaust, to replace it i have pettit downpipe (already installed), bonez high flow cat, and apexi n1s. after removing the stock cat and cat back i removed a heatshield or two and now im ready to install. when removing the stock cat from the downpipe the studs stayed on the cat on both sides, can i remove the studs and reuse them? or should i buy all new ones? also anyone know a link or any info on where i can get gaskets for this install?

RX7.com sells a gasket kit and high heat tolerant nuts and bolts for the Bonez cat. That is what I'm running. Cheap, in stock and fits.

What heat-shields did you remove? The ones attached to the under-body tunnel should be left in tact. No reason to remove those and I'll guarantee you'll want them.

Since the DP is already installed, I highly recommend getting some DEI header-wrap and some of the DEI hi-temp sealant spray. Wrap as much of the DP and even the inlet and outlet of the Bonez. It's cheap (< $75) and not hard to do...especially now. And will make a huge difference in underhood and cabin heat. It will also reduce some radiant heat to the transmission.

thanks as always for the advice, does it matter that the bolt/stud holes on my pettit downpipe are smaller then the ones on my high flow cat? also how does the split air pipe i think it is that connects to stock cat come in to play with the bones highflow cat, or does it?

Use the largest bolt that will fit the flange on your downpipe. The Bonez HF cat should take the air line just as the stock cat did. And you should re-install those heatshields.

Ok so wasn't a heat shield , I took the metal shield under the transmission off to double check down pipe I recently installed. Do I remove the metal piece or valve or what ever its called and just connect a hose to the highflow cat. Do I completely remove the metal split air valve ( correct me if I'm wrong)
